Developement of control strategies for hybrid vehicles in the mountains.
In an effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions of which standards are being increasingly strict, some control strategies for hybrid vehicles, operating in mountainous terrain, are put in place. The objective is to reduce the fuel consumption while not limiting the car performances, in an environment which has not been studied yet today. In order to get closer to mountainous conditions in a most realistic way, we performed our own driving cycle by means of a mobile application that uses the GPS localization, allowing us to trace a real journey made in mountains. From an existing MATLAB model of one hybrid vehicle, many tests of consumption were made after the implementation of the main parameter being the slope angle. Our strategy takes into account the various phases of driving in mountains, allowing us to assess the peaks of consumption related on and from which the strategies are then thought.
